Child Sexual Abuse: The Family Is Not Guilty, It Is Betrayed
Deputy Rossignol is right to reject « paedophilia » for violence against children. It is more accurate to speak of « child sexual abuse crimes ». Yet her reasoning stops short: she suspects the family, the father, authority, falling into anti-family ideology. However, family violence is not the truth of the family, but its absolute corruption. Just as a dictator does not prove that all government is bad, a predatory father does not prove that all paternal authority is illegitimate. Authority must protect, not crush. The true answer? Defend the family by being relentless toward those who desecrate it.
